I am very fortunate to return from a 7-day backpacking, fishing trip. Due to a series of health issues this is the first time I have been able to do this kind of trip in over 8 years. I am very fortunate to have a supportive husband that enables me to continue with these kinds of adventures. Since I am now partially disabled, I would be unable to do these kinds of trips on my own. We had some great experiences on this trip, complete with big thunderstorms, rainbows, backcountry plane trips, with McCall Aviation, and got to stay at the Big Creek Lodge. And, of course we got some fishing, using a new technique that I am learning. The scenery was spectacular and every changing. Some future artwork may be in the works from this trip. Because I am unable to get to many of the fishing spots because the terrain is too steep or difficult, I spend a few hours on some of the days just sitting and watching and listening. Just trying to appreciate where I am in that moment.
